The impact of ESG factors on the financial performance of US companies in the period from 2018 to 2023

The relevance of the topic of ESG and financial performance is driven by many factors, including societal pressures, regulatory requirements, investment strategies, risk management and long-term economic benefits. Companies that successfully integrate ESG factors into their operations can expect improved financial performance, enhanced reputation and competitiveness, as well as better risk management and sustainability. Research on the impact of ESG on financial performance continues to be an important and sought-after area in today's economy. U.S. companies consisting of 11 major industries from 2018-2023 were selected for analysis. The study identified the relationship between ESG-scores and financial performance and the industry breakdown of each ESG factor.
