Cartography opens up the possibility to navigate in space and time. In the present visual research, the interaction of these domains and how they can be represented through the graphics is explored. The aim of the paper is to investigate how impermanent processes are visualized in cartography and how they are read by the observer. During the research the visualization of processes in maps and methods of capturing dynamics in cartography will be grounded, the process of graphics formation as a key subject in shaping visual language in the user's understanding of the world will be examined. Another essential part of the research is methods of virtual image visualization, three-dimensional and animation effects in digital cartography.
