Visual Identity for the National Museum of the Republic of Buryatia

Vertical writing has been an integral part of Mongolian history for a long time, having a significant impact on the development of various writing systems. This research focuses on Mongol bichig, or vertical writing, and its history and relevance in modern design. The work analyzes the evolution of Mongol bichig and its cultural significance, as well as its potential for popularizing among the Mongol-speaking population. It explores the development of different styles and fonts associated with Mongol bichig and their use in different contexts. Based on a range of sources, this study highlights the uniqueness and importance of Mongol vertical script as an essential element of the cultural identity of the Buryat and Mongol people. The findings of this research are proposed to be used in the National Museum of the Republic of Buryatia to contribute to the promotion and preservation of Buryat culture.
