Environment is an important part of people's life. It is difficult to overestimate this influence, as its quality affects a lot of human factors, such as emotional state, comfort, availability of aspirations. Russian society recently came to realize the importance of such thing as a public space of daily use, in other words, “the third place”. An integral part of public space is small architectural forms, as they form the environment. The aim of the study is to analyze the world experience in landscaping, creation of small architectural forms and structuring the optimal design techniques. This research contains such methods as content analysis, observation, and visual research. The cases under study touch on different aspects of life, have different purposes, but in one way or another use similar tools of influence. The intended result of the project is a conceptual line of furniture for a public park space at a cafe that is not only practical but also aesthetically pleasing. The technologies and design techniques used to create the series are based on the results of visual research. Hypothesis — public spaces, namely the small architectural forms (later referred to as SAFs) that make it up, should unite different age and social groups, be universal for the formation of various subcultures, as the presence of like-minded people is a basic human need.
