Development Strategy of Avito as Classified Platform in the Russian Paid Services Market

Being the absolute leader among all online platforms in the Russian paid services market, Avito is not immune to changes in the macro environment and the emergence of new competitors. We observe signals from the market that may indicate that the company’s position may change in the near future. The purpose of this masters thesis is to determine strategic steps for the development of Avito as a classified platform in the Russian paid services market over a five-year horizon. In this paper, we will explore the paid services market, analyze Avito’s activities with a focus on the Services vertical, and assess potential threats and uncertainties that may affect the company’s competitive position in the future.
