Different sources indicate that sanctions often fail to achieve their intended purpose of altering a target's political conduct, with an average success rate of approximately 34%. However, they can significantly affect social and economic indicators and infringe upon fundamental human rights. Especially right to health, a broad concept that embodies access to medicine and medical equipment, availability of healthcare, poverty, and nutrition. A tight link unites economic sanctions and the right to health, a great deal of discussion later in the article will move toward how these sanctions may implicate egregious consequences that violate the international legal obligation to ensure the right to health on examples of particular States: Iran, Cuba, Venezuela, Syria, and Russia. As the fundamental and most essential component of any society, people's health and well-being mustn’t be violated by sanctions. This is crucial because human rights reflect the minimum standards necessary for people to live in a just and humane world. The research will analyze the effectiveness of the current legal and ethical framework in regulating the use of US economic sanctions that have global health impacts and provide recommendations for future actions.
