The research of military-technical cooperation between the United States and the Republic of Korea is relevant in the context of the development of U.S. Indo-Pacific strategies. The modern development of the Republic of Korea in the military and technical field encompasses particular strategic importance for strengthening American influence in the region against the military, political, economic and technological potential of the People's Republic of China. The existence of a strong political, military and technical alliance between Washington and Seoul is a mutually beneficial cooperation to ensure national and regional security within Northeast Asia. This study aims to analyze the current evolution of military and technical cooperation between the United States and the Republic of Korea over the past 6 years (2017-2023). The focus of this study is to examine the contribution to the strategic alliance in terms of its equality and value to both nations. Part of the work is devoted to investigating the dependence in shaping the foreign policy course of the Republic of Korea in identifying the main challenges and threats to international and national security on the position of the United States. The conclusions of this paper will make it possible to study the role of middle powers in the formation of international security and determine the U.S. approach to interaction with the countries of the Indo-Pacific region in the field of military-technical cooperation.
