Food security is a crucial aspect of national security, and as such, it plays a significant role in the domestic and foreign policies of countries, as well as in the agendas of numerous international organisations. Russia is a significant player in the global agricultural market. Consequently, the restrictions imposed against it, particularly the sanctions in 2022, could not be ignored when considering the impact on global trade of agricultural goods and Russia's trade with its main importers, even though direct restrictions against the agricultural sector were not imposed by anyone. The consequences of previous world events and the geopolitical conflict that has begun are affecting the ability of many developing and least developed countries to overcome the food crisis. However, countries that have imposed anti-Russian sanctions often refuse to acknowledge the negative effect of these measures on Russia's changing agricultural trade, which provides many countries with food for their citizens. This problem must therefore be discussed in political, social and academic circles in order to resolve it as soon as possible.
