Transformation of the Alcohol Industry of Russia in the Context of International Sanctions 2022-2024

The sanctions policy towards Russia in the years 2022-2024 has impacted the functioning of various industries, including the alcohol industry. Russian alcohol companies have faced both positive and negative consequences of international sanctions. This study examined the theoretical characteristics of the FMCG market and distinctive features of the alcohol sector. In the practical part, the development of Russian alcohol industry in 2022-2024 was analyzed, and the transformation of both the external and internal Russian market for all categories of alcohol beverages was determined. Also, using a regression model, factors contributing to the growth of low-alcohol beverages as one of the most promising sectors were identified. Finally, the potential future development of alcohol production in Russia was discussed, outlining the main global trends in alcohol consumption and threats to the stable growth of this market in the Russian Federation.
