In this visual study, I propose to examine female puberty and corporeality through the lens of body horror. I analyze the representation of the effects of physical changes on girls, the psychological and emotional aspects of the changes, and the awakening of the libido. I focus on the conceptual and visual aspects of the films, identifying how body horror became integral to conveying the authors' thoughts on the female experience.
