In the framework of the study, the author examines the modern architecture of the northern part of Europe, since it is the mentality of these countries, especially the Scandinavian ones, that is characterized by a desire for harmony with the environment, sometimes unfriendly to man, to moderation and simplicity. This aspiration comes from the historical peasant Protestant past. Also, among other factors, one can name the influence of modernism, which is invariably traced to varying degrees in each object of study. The study considers the modern Northern European architecture of spiritual contemplation as an established phenomenon, so the focus is on finding techniques used from project to project by different architects. The categorization of the material is based on the functional purpose of the architectural objects under consideration. Spiritual contemplation in different conditions requires certain technical and aesthetic solutions, as a result of which it is interesting to consider the similarity and difference of the means used in different typologies.
