Digital watermarks are used to protect the copyright of media content or to confirm its authenticity. In this paper, the embedding of digital watermarks into the frequency domain of the discrete Fourier transform of a digital image is considered. Watermarks embedded by this method are resistant to active attacks on the container containing the watermark. After investigating the impact of attacks on containers with embedded digital watermarks, it is proposed to modify the algorithm in order to increase the stability of watermarks.
