The master's thesis titled "Project management practices in the face of uncertainty and complexity" addresses the pressing issue of modern project management. In an era of globalization and intensification of innovative processes, projects increasingly encounter uncertainties and complex interdependencies that can significantly impact their success or failure. Traditional project management methods often prove ineffective in solving tasks in a dynamically changing environment. This necessitates the development and adaptation of new approaches and strategies that can enhance the flexibility and adaptability of project teams. The aim of this work is to systematically analyze modern project management practices under conditions of uncertainty and complexity, identify their shortcomings, and propose effective solutions for improving project management. The main tasks include the theoretical comprehension of the concepts of uncertainty and complexity, analysis of existing methodologies, conducting empirical research among project managers, and developing new methods adapted to complex conditions. The dissertation is based on a comprehensive approach that combines theoretical analysis of academic literature and practical research using quantitative and qualitative methods. A literature review focused on project management, uncertainty, and complexity was conducted, along with a survey among project leaders from various industries. The main findings of the research show that the use of agile management techniques, such as Agile and Scrum, contributes to improved project management under conditions of uncertainty and complexity by increasing their adaptability and flexibility. This allows project teams to respond more effectively to changes and minimize risks. The conclusions of the work confirm that modern project management requires deeper implementation of adaptive methods that can ensure the successful completion of projects under conditions of uncertainty and complexity. The recommendations proposed in the dissertation can serve as a basis for further development of management practices, as well as for academic research in the field of project management. The dissertation contributes to the development of project management theory and offers practical recommendations for managers, making it significant for both the academic community and practitioners in the field of project management.
