Slave Trade in the Economy of Chios in the 7th - 5th Centuries BCE

This research is devoted to the matter of the slave-trade and its impact on the economy development of Chios in the 7th - 5th BCE. To achieve this task the analysis of written and archaeological sources was carried out. Were identified main regions of the slave supply, specifics of the exploitation of the slaves on Chios and assessed profitabilty of the slave-trade.
