This paper explores the features of China's image politics in ASEAN countries from 2013 to 2023. Within the context of the complex dynamics between statements of friendship and cooperation and China's actual economic and political actions in the region, it analyzes the features of China's image formation among ASEAN countries. This study reveals how China's identity and its soft power influence its foreign policy, particularly its image politics strategy in the Southeast Asian region. It also helps to understand how China addresses the growing distrust towards it in the region and maintains its rising regional and global role.
