Since the early 2000s, Russia has faced a serious fertility problem caused by the consequences of socio-economic reforms carried out in the 90s, as well as the so-called "second demographic transition", characterized, among other things, by an increase in the age of the mother at the birth of the first child and orientation towards single-child families. The State has been implementing programs to support families during the birth of children throughout the period. The most ambitious policy was the implement of the Maternity Capital program in 2007. The purpose was to encourage second and subsequent births in Russian families. In addition to Maternity capital, the State supports families with children by paying one-time and monthly benefits. The purpose of the work was to identify and evaluate the influence of a number of factors, in particular, characterizing the ongoing socio-economic policy, on the reproductive behavior of women, especially, the birth of a child, based on the data of the survey of individuals of the Higher School of Economics. The results obtained allow us to assess the significance of the policy being implemented and its impact on the reproductive intentions of Russian women, and may also become the basis for further modernization of the program.
