Visual research not only shows the visual content of the architecture of abandoned buildings, but also reveals the history of architecture of historical buildings in St. Petersburg. The study presents diverse structures — these are factories, administrative buildings, sports complexes, train stations, institutes and historical sites. The most important thing that unites them is the moment of functional prosperity in the period of the 1970s and 1980s, and some buildings from the study are just beginning to be designed. However, now, in our time, they are presented in a completely different form. The purpose of the research is to immerse the reader in the appearance of Leningrad in the 1970s and 1980s through history and archival photographs and to show how various factors, such as economic changes, political events and social trends, influenced their fate.
