Digital ecosystems have been developing rapidly in recent years. This study aims to comparatively analyse the development of digital ecosystems in Russia and China. This paper explores the impact of digital ecosystems on the economic development of Russia and China. The paper identifies key strategies for the development of digital ecosystems through mergers and acquisitions of other companies, venture capital investments and partnerships with large companies or start-ups. It also analyses the features, structure and dynamics of digital ecosystems, their role in national economies, current problems and prospects for their further development. The theoretical basis of the research is based on the works of leading economists and analysts, further analyses are based on indicators from the financial reports of companies and analytical reports from public sources. The research methods are qualitative literature analysis, comparative analysis and cluster analysis. The hypothesis of this paper is that Chinese digital ecosystems have higher investment activity than Russian digital ecosystems. According to the results of the study, the hypothesis was confirmed, because Chinese digital ecosystems: Tencent, Alibaba and Baidu turned out to be in separate clusters from Russian digital ecosystems: Sber, Yandex, VK, MTS and Tinkoff, which confirms the fact that ecosystems in Russia have lower investment activity than in China, all goals were achieved.
