The research explores the peculiarities of the nobility's representation of femininity in Russian ego-documents of the second half of the 18th - early 19th century. The main sources used are memoirs written by women and men of noble origin during this period, such as N. B. Dolgorukaya, G. I. Rzhevskaya, E. R. Dashkova, A. E. Labzina, V. N. Golovina, A. T. Bolotov, M. V. Danilov, I. M. Dolgorukov and M. A. Muravyov.
