Implementation of Data Analytics Tools as a Factor of Increase of the International Competitiveness (Cases of the Companies from the US and PRC)

The purpose of this research paper is to determine how companies from the US and PRC use data analytics tools and how their use affects the competitiveness of companies in the context of a large volume of information and wide opportunities for their application. The paper considers the theoretical foundations of the digital economy and the role of online platforms in it. Three main stages in the development of data analytics tools are highlighted. The paper identifies the impact of analytics on the competitiveness of US and PRC companies based on the international rankings of Fortune 500, Brand Finance and Interbrand, which evaluate companies in terms of revenue, brand strength and brand recognition respectively. Examples of successful use of data analysis by such companies as Amazon, Baidu, Coca-Cola, Sanofi and Sber are given and its impact on their activities is shown. The state of the data analytics sector in European countries and in Russia is considered, and the main directions of future development of data analytics in general are defined. A possible future direction for the continuation of the research is suggested.
