Legal Status of International Companies in Russia

Abstract to the graduate qualification work on topic “Legal status of international companies in the Russian Federation” The work is focused on the legal status analysis of international companies in Russia. In particular, the work studies the following aspects of international companies - specifics of redomiciliation and related features in the Russian Federation and foreign jurisdictions, controversial issues of international companies' legal regulation in Russia - applicable law, disclosure of information by international companies and multiple voting shares, as well as problems arising in practice regarding these issues related to the status of international companies. As a result of the analysis, the author identifies the problematic points related to the possible challenge of the exemptions applied by international companies from the Russian corporate law in comparison with other legal entities in the Russian Federation. The work also offers potential solutions to such problems, taking into account the purposes of enactment and specifics of legal regulation of the status of international companies in the Russian Federation.
