In today's globalised and integrated world, nations seek active participation in the international economic system to ensure the stability and growth of their economies. Regional trade agreements (RTAs) are an important tool in this process, allowing countries to create favourable conditions for trade, capital investment and information exchange. This thesis analyses the impact of RTAs on the foreign trade activities of Germany, which is the leading economy of the European Union (EU) and an active participant in international trade. The focus is on assessing how regional trade agreements contribute to deepening economic ties, stimulating economic growth and strengthening Germany's global competitiveness. The analysis is based on an examination of the effects of RTAs on international trade intensification and the dynamics of structural transformation in the economy. Both successful and problematic aspects of trade policy are highlighted, and examples are given of how regional agreements have helped Germany to stabilise trade flows in times of global crises and what lessons have been learned from this experience. Additionally, the role of the World Trade Organisation (WTO) in shaping the rules and regulations that countries take into account when concluding bilateral and multilateral agreements is examined. The thesis has both theoretical and practical significance, as it allows a deeper understanding of the mechanisms of international economic integration and their impact on the national economy. It is of interest for government agencies engaged in foreign economic policy, as well as for analysts and economists researching international economic relations. The findings and recommendations can be used to improve strategies for participation in RTAs, as well as to minimise the risks and enhance the positive aspects of such participation in the context of changing global challenges.
