In the modern world, where the banking sector is becoming increasingly digitalized and globalized, the security of payment transactions and the protection of customer data are of paramount importance. This is due to the rising number of cyberattacks aimed at stealing confidential information and conducting fraudulent financial operations. In this context, Hardware Security Modules (HSM) serve as an indispensable element of the security infrastructure, providing reliable data encryption and cryptographic key management. Special attention is given to domestic developments in this field, which contribute to increasing technological independence and ensuring compliance with national security standards. In this work, a methodology for evaluating the selection of payment HSMs has been developed, allowing the financial sector to effectively assess and integrate these devices into their infrastructure. An analysis of modern requirements and security standards applicable to HSMs has been conducted, and a comparison of domestic and foreign HSMs has been carried out. Additionally, a process for the application of HSMs to enhance the security of various banking operations has been developed, and recommendations for improving the use of domestic HSM modules, including enhancing their quality and competitiveness, have been proposed.
