Educational Programme: Economics and Economic Policy (Master)

Year of Graduation: 2024

Economic theory strongly disagrees on how prices should differ depending on the location inside the city. Despite the fact that medicines are homogeneous, their prices can vary greatly. Including due to the location of pharmacies. This can lead to higher prices in areas with a high concentration of people facing socio-economic problems. Using data from Moscow, the purpose of this study is to determine whether there are significant price differences between rich and poor areas. In particular, it examines how these prices differ in poorer areas, whether these differences depend on medical characteristics, and what types of pharmacies are located in them. JEL Codes: I11
