Since ancient times, the manufacture and decoration of edged weapons has become one of the most important crafts of the peoples of the Caucasus. However, a large number of weapons that have survived to date do not have any documented information about their place of origin, so there are difficulties in their correct attribution. One of the most important factors that can help in determining the origin of a particular weapon is the ornamental motifs that were used by craftsmen to decorate it.
