Incorporating a comprehensive examination of gender diversity and female entrepreneurship-related legislation and regulations literature, this research endeavors to establish a correlation between the share of women entrepreneurs globally and the characteristics of legal frameworks designed to safeguard the rights of female population (Ershova, 2022). Prior research in the field has demonstrated that women entrepreneurs globally encounter substantial obstacles, including societal norms, restricted access to resources, and a dearth of role models (Munjal & Khyati, 2023; Yang et al., 2023). Nonetheless, female entrepreneurship is crucial for fostering gender equality and inclusive economic growth (Dzhioev, 2023; Ershova, 2022). In this context, legal frameworks play a significant role in shaping the environment for female entrepreneurship (Chávez Rivera, 2021; Ershova, 2022; Xie et al., 2021). An analysis using regression models of a comprehensive database including levels of female entrepreneurship, the Women, Business and the Law (WBL) index, and a wide range of other economic and social statistics was conducted to assess the effect of legislation on levels of female entrepreneurship. Results of the study indicate that countries with more favorable legal frameworks towards the female population have significantly higher levels of women entrepreneurship.
