Germany's colonial experience, which emerged during the period from 1884 to 1918, as well as during World War II, had a significant impact on history despite its brief existence. The establishment of German colonies and attempts to expand them exerted a strong influence on the German state and its future. Equally serious consequences arose from Germany's loss of its colonies under the terms of the Versailles Treaty after the end of World War I. Against the backdrop of the decline of colonial practice in Germany in the 1920s, prerequisites for a new stage of German colonial history began to develop, which became practical under the Nazi regime and the rise to power of Adolf Hitler (1933-1945). Both the first and second stages of German colonial practice had extremely negative consequences for Germany and the world as a whole. African states played a significant role in the history of German colonization. Therefore, this paper will examine the main historical stages and events related to Germany's colonization of African territories, as well as the formation of the Nazi regime. The ideological basis of Nazism, Germany's persecution of other ethnic groups and nationalities, and German imperialism, linked to the belief in the superiority of the German race over others, will also be considered within the framework of this study.
