The bubble in the Chinese construction market was formed back in the noughties and is still growing, posing risks to the Chinese financial system as well as the world’s one. Most studies examine how the Chinese State deals with this phenomenon through the relationship between housing policy and the country's macroeconomic performance. This paper will use data since the emergence of the housing market in China, namely since 1988, to assess the impact of housing policies on the social sustainability of the population, which will be determined based on the UN Sustainable Development Goal 11 "Sustainable Cities and Human Settlements". The sample collected will include data from 2009 till 2022 such as household income, government investment, the weighted mortgage rate, population of urban and rural areas and other factors. The panel regression will be used to identify the relationship between the level of house affordability and different housing policies of the Chinese government of urban and rural areas.
