Pension Policy in China during the Reign of Xi Jinping: the Implementation Features and the Factors of Social Perception

Currently, in China, as in the world as a whole, there is a trend of population aging, the percentage of the elderly population is increasing, and at the same time the relevance and importance of issues such as pension provision is growing. In China, the pension system combines the features of distributive and accumulative systems, while the basic state pension rate is formed in each province separately. There are a number of problems in the pension system of the People's Republic of China that require special attention: different pension provision for rural and urban residents, increased pension burden and others. The Chinese Government is taking active measures to improve and improve the pension system. The purpose of this study is to identify the specifics of the implementation of pension policy during the reign of Xi Jinping and the main factors of public perception of the pension system.
