During the period from 2017 to 2023, India faced a series of challenges, including tax reforms, changes in global trade, COVID-19, as well as social and political changes within the country. These factors could have significantly influenced the inflation expectations of households, entrepreneurs, investors, and other market participants. Examining this timeframe not only allows for the identification of key factors affecting inflation expectations among households in India but also for analyzing the economy's response to various events and decisions of the government and central bank. The study aims to identify the key economic, political, and social factors that shaped households' perceptions of inflation during the specified period. The findings of this research can be utilized by the Reserve Bank of India to formulate recommendations for future inflation management and to develop measures aimed at ensuring macroeconomic stability and sustainable economic growth in the country.
