Merchants and Merchant Associations in the Novgorodian Land of the 12–15 Centuries

In this work, an attempt is made to determine the conditions for the formation of merchant associations of the Novgorod land in the XII–XV centuries, the foundations of their community, as well as the subject and features of their activities (based on a number of legislative and narrative sources). In the course of the work, the conclusions of A. I. Nikitsky on the "generic" nature of merchant associations and their focus on protecting members of the corporation were supplemented.
