Development of an Indoor Position Estimation Model

Student: Gennadiy Makhmudov

Supervisor: Yury Zontov

Faculty: HSE Tikhonov Moscow Institute of Electronics and Mathematics (MIEM HSE)

Educational Programme: Systems Analysis and Mathematical Technologies (Master)

Year of Graduation: 2024

This final qualifying work examines the possibility of Indoor-positioning based on data from smartphone sensors. An overview of existing solutions is provided, ideas from which were used to describe the methodology for collecting data inside an enclosed space. Based on the obtained data, an analysis of existing machine learning algorithms is carried out. The result of the analysis is a trained model capable of predicting the location of the device inside university campus. An inference service was developed and deployed for accessing the trained model.
