In this thesis, the authors examine the phenomena of incest, incestuousness, and psychosis through the prism of psychoanalytic concepts and theories. The literature of prominent psychoanalytic masters such as Sigmund Freud, Jacques Lacan, Melanie Klein, Paul-Claude Racamier, Donald Winnicott, Wilfred Bion, and other psychoanalysts who addressed the issues of psychotic functioning of the personality in their works is analyzed. The aim of the study is to attempt analytically to recreate the psychodynamic processes of Amedeo Modigliani's personality and the metamorphosis of his artistic works. Studying the life and work of artists is an important tool for psychoanalysts in understanding human psychology, emotions, the creative process, as well as in the development of therapy methods and understanding the psychological mechanisms of personality. The hypothesis of the study suggests that besides endogenous factors, early relationships with the maternal and paternal object can significantly influence the formation of a person's psychotic personality structure, psychosis. It is also suggested that creativity can be an expression of both conscious and unconscious desires. Psychoanalytic research into the manifestation of the sublimation phenomenon in the life and work of A. Modigliani has shown that the artist's sublimation in art can be both an attempt to separate from traumatic relationships with the primary object and an unconscious desire for their continuation. The results of this study can be used in the practice of psychoanalytically oriented therapists and psychologists studying the topic of psychotic personality structure. From a practical standpoint, the work may be useful to psychologists, psychoanalytically oriented psychotherapists, and admirers of A. Modigliani's art who would like to delve deeper into the topic of psychotic personality structure and to familiarize themselves with the illustration of the sublimation phenomenon through the example of the artist's creative path.
