Currently, due to the significant expansion of the volume of restrictive measures imposed by unfriendly states against the Russian Federation, the problem of maintaining the competitiveness of Russian manufacturers, in particular enterprises of the woodworking industry, is relevant. The purpose of this work is to assess the international competitiveness of Russian manufacturers using the example of the woodworking industry before and after the external shock of 2022. The study revealed that the woodworking industry is competitive in the international market, including due to the presence of a significant number of raw materials, while its position is weakening due to current restrictions. With the help of econometric analysis, the factors influencing the change in the competitiveness of companies were identified, including a higher resistance to the shock of 2022 of small enterprises, mainly focused on the domestic market. In addition, the results of the state policy aimed at increasing value added in Russian exports and increasing the competitiveness of agricultural products were evaluated, and recommendations were made to improve existing measures.
