The study is devoted to analysing the activities of domestic and Western esotericists. The paper substantiates the implementation of P. Ricoeur's methodological principles (phenomenological hermeneutics) in the study of the history of Western and domestic esoterism. Through the prism of P. Ricoeur's narratology the periodisation of the history of Western esoterism in the XX - XXI centuries was defined, consisting of two time periods - esoteric narratives: primary (early XX century - mid XX century) and secondary (mid XX century - present); The main forms of representation of religious elements of the Western esoteric narrative in the domestic mystical-esoteric environment were also identified: structural-ideal, structural-formal, and formal-ideal
