Recommendations for Transport Infrastructure Development in Cities

In the modern world, the development of transport infrastructure plays a key role in ensuring sustainable socio-economic development of cities and regions. An effective transport system helps improve the quality of life of citizens, increase the competitiveness of the economy, reduce the environmental load and ensure road safety. However, in order for transport in the city to ensure the most efficient functioning of various spheres of city life, it is necessary to clearly and correctly develop and implement transport infrastructure measures in the city. To do this, it is necessary to have the necessary legislative framework, formulate the goals and objectives of transport in the city, study world experience in the field of transport in cities, study innovations in the field of transport and the issue of compliance of introduced innovations with environmental requirements. Therefore, in order to improve urban transport and make it more comfortable, convenient and accessible, it is necessary to develop step-by-step recommendations for the development of urban transport infrastructure. Improving transport infrastructure can be achieved through well-developed recommendations for the development of transport infrastructure for a particular city. At the same time, when developing transport infrastructure for a particular city, factors such as the climatic conditions of the city, demand for transport in the city, environmental aspects, financial capabilities of the city, cultural characteristics of the region and social aspects should be taken into account. The work has practical significance, since the developed recommendations for improving urban transport infrastructure can be used by specialists involved in the development of urban transport. The theoretical material, analytical part and conclusions of the work can serve as the basis for further actions to improve the transport infrastructure of a particular city. The city of St. Petersburg was chosen for the study. During the implementation of this work, all key stages of the study were carried out: the importance of transport infrastructure in the city of St. Petersburg was assessed, the current state of transport infrastructure was analyzed and problems in the transport sector were identified. Statistical data on traffic flows and data on the status of various types of public transport in the city were also analyzed, and a SWOT analysis of the current situation of the city’s transport infrastructure was also carried out. The purpose of the final qualifying work: to develop recommendations for the development of urban transport infrastructure using the example of the city of St. Petersburg. The object of this final qualifying work is the transport infrastructure of the city of St. Petersburg. The subject of the final qualifying work is the development of recommendations for the improvement and development of the urban transport infrastructure of the city of St. Petersburg. Research methods include conducting a social survey, SWOT analysis, and observation. Sources of information are scientific works on related topics, the legislative framework of the Russian Federation and St. Petersburg and Internet sites.
