The theme of the visual research is closely tied to the historical context of the territory I am considering in my final qualification work. That is why it was decided to consider Scandinavian architecture, its close relationship with nature, in order to then use these principles to create a space that will interact with the environment of the Leningrad region. The main hypothesis of my research is the idea that nature plays a major role in the formation of traditional Scandinavian architecture. I believe that it is characteristic of Scandinavia, even in the process of rapid industrialization, to maintain a close relationship with nature. Based on the studied materials I was able to conclude that Scandinavian architects were able to reinterpret modern movements and on the basis of modernism to affirm the cultural roots of traditional culture.
