Role-Playing Action (ARPG) Computer Game: Player Character Control Subsystem

Video game industry in Russia expects growth in demand, while supply rapidly plummets because of major games leaving. The situation with the Action Role-Play Game (ARPG) genre is difficult – it is expensive and hard to replace popular projects. This action role-play game is supposed to partly soften the problem giving players unique and yet familiar to the genre gameplay. The project has a typical plot – an unknown person appears in the world to become a hero; has a map – gigantic island with some points of interest; and has a goal – complete all quests and discover the whole map. This paper proposes one of the most vital parts of the project – player character control subsystem using Unreal Engine 5. Here different approaches to those kinds of subsystems will be considered, and comparison with the project will be determined.
