International cooperation in the field of criminal justice (on the example of the CIS and the European Union)

This work highlights the order of interaction between states in the field of criminal justice on the example of international cooperation within the framework of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) and the European Union (EU). The paper reveals the specific manifestations of such cooperation, provides an analysis of its directions based on the provisions of national legislation and international law. In the introduction of the work, its relevance is justified, the object and subject of the study are formulated, its main methods are listed, the purpose and objectives are indicated. The first chapter contains an analysis of the provisions of the legal doctrine concerning the definition of the concept, forms and directions of international cooperation in the field of criminal justice. The second chapter describes the legal grounds and mechanisms for cooperation in criminal matters (in particular, extradition and transfer of persons sentenced to imprisonment to serve their sentences) among the CIS countries, the third chapter addresses similar issues in relation to EU states (especially european arrest warrants and investigative actions). In the conclusion the results of the study are summarized and the main conclusions are formulated.
