Software and Hardware Complex for Environmental Monitoring

Student: Arsen Andryan

Supervisor: Hadi Saleh

Faculty: Faculty of Computer Science

Educational Programme: Software Engineering (Bachelor)

Year of Graduation: 2024

This work is dedicated to the creation of a software and hardware complex for environmental monitoring. The need for precise monitoring of environmental metrics, both indoors and outdoors, is constantly growing. This is crucial for ensuring safety, adhering to environmental standards, and monitoring industrial processes. However, traditional monitoring methods can be cumbersome, and modern solutions do not offer equivalent functionality within a single product. The goal of this project is to develop a complex that includes microcontrollers, a microcomputer, a backend server, and a cross-platform application. It should serve as a means of efficiently collecting and analyzing data on the surrounding environment. The complex allows users to receive real-time information from various sensors located on the microcontrollers. It transmits this data to a hub microcomputer, which, in turn, aggregates and sends it to the server. Using this server, the application can display and visualize the data in a convenient format, as well as manage access to the information. The work consists of 34 pages, 3 chapters, 21 illustrations, 20 sources. Keywords: Environmental monitoring, Microcontrollers; Cross-platform application; Radio transmitters; Graphical data representation, Arduino, IoT, sensors.
