Cgym Platform: Isolated Environment Management System

Student: Bogdan Kulikov

Supervisor: Nikolay Pavlochev

Faculty: Faculty of Computer Science

Educational Programme: Software Engineering (Bachelor)

Year of Graduation: 2024

This work is focused on the development of a service for managing isolated environments for the educational online platform Cgym. Modern educational online platforms allow obtaining education in any specialization. Thanks to the automation of the task preparation and verification processes, millions of learners can take online courses simultaneously. However, there is a lack of online platforms in the software development field that allow practicing skills related to operating system administration, network administration, DevOps, and information security. Most analogs require manual verification of practical exercise solutions, which hinders platform expansion and attracting new clients. Additional workload on teachers leads to reduced interaction with students and adversely affects learning outcomes. In an attempt to address these and other issues of online platforms for teaching software engineering practices, Cgym was developed, which fully automates the processes of preparing a working environment for tasks and verifying user solutions. The work aims to expand the functionality of the Cgym platform, allowing administrators and teachers to easily add new tasks without programming, as well as monitor the learners' task-solving process and provide them with assistance tools if needed.
