Development of a Plug-in for the Multi-pass Drawing for CAE System

Student: Andreev Viacheslav

Supervisor: Dmitry Demin

Faculty: HSE Tikhonov Moscow Institute of Electronics and Mathematics (MIEM HSE)

Educational Programme: Information Science and Computation Technology (Bachelor)

Year of Graduation: 2024

The final qualifying work is devoted to the multi-pass drawing process, which is widely used in modern industry. This process is an integral part of the creation of many metal products; one of the most striking examples of these processes is wire drawing. During this qualification work, single-pass and multi-pass drawing processes were studied, comparison and analysis of various simulation environments were carried out, and a plug-in was developed to automate the process under study. As part of the practical part of the work, an environment was selected for conducting simulation of multi-pass drawing. The work was carried out in special software called SIMULIA Abaqus CAE. The end result of this work is a plugin for Abaqus CAE to solve a number of technical problems that arise when computer modeling a multi-pass drawing process. The developed plugin allows you to transfer the results of the previous stage to the current one. The obtained simulation results were also compared. The work includes 53 pages, contains 31 figures, 5 tables, 31 sources, as well as 1 appendix.
