The Use of Specialized Knowledge in the Investigation of Iatrogenic Crimes

The paper examines forensic aspects of investigating iatrogenic crimes committed by medical professionals in the course of their professional duties. The use of special knowledge is revealed through the involvement of specialists during investigative actions and in the process of collecting evidence, as well as through the appointment of a forensic medical examination in criminal proceedings. The analysis allows to establish the peculiarities that the investigation may face when collecting evidence, the state and main characteristics of iatrogenic crime in the Russian Federation, the importance of using special knowledge in establishing legally significant circumstances and the problems of investigating this category of crimes.
