The thesis is devoted to the analysis of innovation management in the fight against chronic diseases in public and private medical organizations using the example of the system of care for patients with multiple sclerosis in Russia. Currently, MS is the most common cause of neurological disability of non-traumatic origin in young people. Therefore, the search for solutions in the field of MS has become one of the priorities of the scientific community and the state. The aim of the study is to analyze the models of innovation management in public and private medical organizations in the fight against MS and give recommendations for improvement comparing those models with the motives and satisfaction of patients. The paper describes the current state of the Russian healthcare system, the main challenges of the system, and also defines the special role of the fight against MS for our country. To study the research question regarding innovations used in Russian medical organizations and models for managing these innovations, an analysis of the scientific literature of foreign and Russian researchers on this issue was conducted. Moreover, for this purpose expert interviews with MS specialists and representatives of the scientific community were conducted. To study the level of satisfaction of patients with MS with care received in private and public medical organizations, a survey was conducted among patients who received care in Moscow and the Moscow region. According to the results of the study, two main groups of problems were identified: general problems of the system, the solution of which is related to the financial provision of healthcare, as well as problems that can be solved with the help of some managerial arrangements.
