The Role of Success Neurosis in the Formation of Professional Identity

In today's world, the desire to achieve success has become an integral part of life in modern society. However, this aspiration often hides deep unconscious conflicts that influence the individual's attitude to his or her own achievements and reaction to potential success. The purpose of the study is to identify the relationship between level of functioning, personality structure, defense mechanisms, and unresolved Oedipus complex. Special attention is paid to family dynamics within the framework of object relations theory and the development of success neurosis in the actor. The study also seeks to determine the role of these factors in the formation of professional identity, using the example of Will Smith's biographical and career path. The analysis of psychoanalytical literature and psychodynamic approach in the interpretation of the analysis of Will's autobiography allowed to determine the manic structure of the actor's personality, to determine the dominant defense mechanisms and to determine the relationship between the actor's professional identity and his character, to confirm the influence of the Oedipus complex in the formation of three cases of manifestation of Will Smith's success neurosis. And determine the dynamics of attraction and the role of parental figures on the development of leadership potential.
