The rapid development of cities and the strengthening of their role in socio-economic and cultural processes pose new challenges for urban management. To make informed decisions aimed at long-term results and to ensure quality development of territories, new tools need to be implemented. Although most decisions are still made centrally, the need for interaction with the population is recognized as an important condition for shaping a quality urban environment. Participatory design, as a new tool, requires studying barriers and problems, as well as finding ways to overcome them. State interest in this tool makes it a promising and sought-after mechanism for urban management, allowing residents to influence decisions and determine the direction of territorial development.
