Demographic Reproduction as a Factor of Socio-Economic Development of the Subjects of the Russian Federation

This paper on the topic "Demographic Reproduction as a Factor of Socio-Economic Development of the Subjects of Russian Federation" is aimed at elaborating measures to improve the socio-economic situation at the regional level considering demographic trends. In order to assess the level of socio-economic development, it was necessary to calculate a consolidated rating for the economic, social and environmental block. The data source was various yearbooks and collections of Rosstat. The application of the principal component method made it possible to select the most significant demographic indicators. The results of the regression analysis confirmed that demographic indicators can influence the level of socio-economic development. To elaborate specific measures taking into account the differentiation of subjects, there was carried out a cluster analysis with the most significant demographic indicators. The main conclusions of the paper are that the social and economic policy of the subjects should take into account current demographic trends. The key recommendations conclude measures for improvement the health care system and reducing the mortality rate of the working-age population.
