Student: Sofya Maksimova

Educational Programme: Economics (Bachelor)

Year of Graduation: 2024

In recent years, the topic of gender-based wage differentials in the Russian labour market has become increasingly significant, capturing the attention of both the academic community and governmental bodies. This scientific research aims to verify the hypothesis about gender exerting influence on one’s salary and therefore proposes a model to evaluate correlation between these values. This model provides an opportunity to determine factors influencing wages the most. The presented model will be tested on data provided by Russian Monitoring of the Economic Situation and Public Health at the Higher School of Economics. The initial theory about gender-based differences in working payments is anticipated to be found accurate. Key words: gender, wage gap, gender segregation, gender discrimination.
