Geometric models are increasingly used in the design of building structures. Various errors may occur in these models, which must be found at the early stages of design. To do this, there are software such as Autodesk Navisworks and Solibri, which have functionality for analysing the geometry of the model. However, these software have serious disadvantages. As a consequence, there was a need to implement our own software that would allow to find intersections in the model and evaluate them. Currently, there is already a developed functionality for constructing intersections and calculating metrics for triangular meshes in the project 1274. In this paper, it is proposed to review other ways of representing the geometry of models based on solid modeling and compare with the implemented intersection construction for triangular meshes. In addition, it is also suggested to expand the functionality with new metrics that allow you to determine the location of objects relative to each other and adapt distance algorithms to return the result as a segment instead of a numeric value.

Student Theses at HSE must be completed in accordance with the University Rules and regulations specified by each educational programme.

Summaries of all theses must be published and made freely available on the HSE website.

The full text of a thesis can be published in open access on the HSE website only if the authoring student (copyright holder) agrees, or, if the thesis was written by a team of students, if all the co-authors (copyright holders) agree. After a thesis is published on the HSE website, it obtains the status of an online publication.

Student theses are objects of copyright and their use is subject to limitations in accordance with the Russian Federation’s law on intellectual property.

In the event that a thesis is quoted or otherwise used, reference to the author’s name and the source of quotation is required.
