The degree work on a subject «Governance of Spatial Development of Socio-Economic Sphere of the Russian Federation» is devoted to the spatial analysis of the level of socio-economic development of the regions of Russia. The main goal of this study is to conduct a spatial analysis of the level of socio-economic development and evaluate the degree of spatial differentiation. The spatial analysis was based on 19 indicators (10 of the economic sphere and 9 of the social sphere) of 85 regions. On the basis of the matrix of paired correlation coefficients were compiled integral indices of social and economic spheres. Spatial analysis included the calculation of spatial autocorrelation using the Local and Global Moran’s indices, as well as the LISA cluster analysis, Hot-Spot analysis and spatially constrained multifactor clustering. It was performed in ArcGIS and GeoDa. Moran scattering diagrams, maps with LISA, Hot-Spot and spatially constrained clusters were built. As the result, spatial dependencies of the level of socio-economic development were identified. Hypotheses about the presence of the high level of spatial autocorrelation and significant interregional differentiation in economic indicators were confirmed. Finally, 7 groups of 34 regions of the Russian Federation, within which the spatial dependence was observed, were identified. Key words: spatial development, socio-economic sphere, spatial autocorrelation, Moran’s index, cluster analysis.
